Arrows or Manufacturing
I got this message from Heng Kwai the other day.
Today's world is a Fordism/Taylorism world. We produce products for immediate or at least rapid sale. When we make a product, it must be ready for use instantly, capable of being put to use. Every product is like it's successor and predecessor, produced by machines that run in factories.
But that is not what we are in God's eyes. We are all individually crafted, beautifully handmade. Like arrows for a master bow man (thanks to Heng Kwai for telling me this), we are all shaped, sharpened and fitted with a proper tail for balance, painstakingly crafted. But we are not meant for immediate usage. We are then put into the quiver where other arrows sit.
Then, when we are sent out, or even if we are sent out, that is not our call. Our purpose is simply to be arrows, waiting for our master to decide when we are to go out. Our purpose is not to be manufactured to be exactly like our predecessor to be ready for immediate and mass produced consumption. E.g., your BMW M3 GTR is for anyone (preferably with a license) to drive. And one BMW M3 GTR is the same as the next one off the factory floor.
God does not treat us like that. we are all individuals, and we are all prepared by our master for a specific task, that he will decide when to send us out, not just where, but when. Can we prepare ourselves, to be ready to be called, or not called?
SO many times, i want to go do stuff for god, go and spread his love. I pray, USE Me, use me. But i forget, the relationship with god is the fundemental basis of my faith. Without god, how can do anything? Without God, how can i spread love? Besides, what can i really do for God that he cannot get done? He is God. There is nothing i can do that he cannot get done. When i say i want to do works, it is a declaration of my love for God, not as evidence of my love of God, but evidence of his love for me.
Recently, God challenged me to pray constantly, for 3 days. Managed to do that today. Pray that i can do it for the next 2 days. ANd then some.
